Shams Charania: Free agent Marvin Bagley III has agreed to a one-year deal with the Washington Wizards, sources tell ESPN. Bagley returns to the Wizards after playing in Washington for a year (2024-25) and then being traded to Memphis at the February deadline.
Washington also would entertain parting with veterans Malcolm Brogdon and Marvin Bagley III, who are on expiring contracts, as well as center Richaun Holmes, whose $13.3 million salary for next season is guaranteed only for $250,000.
Varun Shankar: Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington are both available for today's game against the Hornets. Marvin Bagley III, Kyle Kuzma and Saddiq Bey are out.

Josh Robbins: Deni Avdija (migraine), Johnny Davis (ankle) & Richaun Holmes (toe) are listed as questionable to play on Friday. Marvin Bagley III (knee), Bilal Coulibaly (wrist), Tyus Jones (back), Kyle Kuzma (sprained right ankle), Isaiah Livers (hip) & Landry Shamet (calf) will be out.
Josh Robbins: Very good news for the Wizards: Marvin Bagley III will NOT need surgery on his injured right knee, a Wizards official said. Bagley's injury is a sprain, and interim coach Brian Keefe said Bagley's status will be reevaluated "week to week."

Josh Robbins: Kyle Kuzma isn't listed on the Wizards' injury report, indicating he'll play tonight vs. the Lakers. Johnny Davis (left ankle sprain) and Richaun Holmes (toe contusion) are questionable. Marvin Bagley III, Bilal Coulibaly, Tyus Jones, Isaiah Livers and Landry Shamet will be out.
Josh Robbins: Marvin Bagley III is going to the locker room after one of his shots was blocked at the hoop and he landed awkwardly. Bagley was holding the outside of his right knee and is now being helped off the court gingerly by two teammates.
To his credit, Bagley III has produced similarly as a starter and a reserve. Since joining the Wizards in a trade with the Pistons on Jan. 14, he has averaged 13.4 points and 9.4 rebounds in 14 games while starting and 14.1 points and 6.7 rebounds in nine games off the bench. Bagley III has already dealt with quite a few changes around him since he landed in D.C. At first he was slated to back up Daniel Gafford, then Gafford got hurt so he quickly became the starter. Then, Gafford was shipped to Dallas and Holmes came back in return. In a few short months, Bagley III has been the team's No. 1 center, their No. 2 center and at times their only traditional option at that position. "I'm comfortable now. I think the first few weeks it took me to kind of figure out what guys like to do out there on the court, how guys play a little bit. But now I have a pretty good idea of that, just watching film and playing how many games I've played here," Bagley III said. “But just every game figuring it out and I think now I'm at the point where I know what guys like to do, where they like to be out there. I'm just trying to make it easier for them and they make it a lot easier for me. It's just getting that chemistry together.”
Another area Bagley III believes he can help the Wizards is with leadership. Now in his sixth NBA season, he has been through a variety of different situations, though usually on young and developing teams. He entered the league as the second overall pick in 2018 and can therefore relate to any blue chip prospect the Wizards add to their program through the draft this summer. Bagley III knows from experience the type of impact he could have on young players. "I try to be a leader and lead by example. I think it's good to have vets like that in the locker room," he said.
