Hell hath no fury like James Dolan scorned. The controversial Knicks boss is pouring cash into the effort to help GOP Congressional candidate Nicole Malliotakis beat incumbent Democratic Staten Island Rep. Max Rose — all because Rose recently trash-talked his ownership of the perennially losing New York Knicks.
“I never got to know my dad,” said Kerstie, 20, a redshirt sophomore who transferred to FGCU in the summer of 2017 after a strong freshman season at Wagner University in Staten Island, New York. “I know that he worked very hard in his career in just getting to the NBA. My mom always tells me that I’m a reflection of my father. I play for him, every single game that I play.”
Zach Braziller: Staten Island's Hassan Martin has agreed to play in NBA summer league with the Magic, per his agent @RhodyMBB.
Kyrie Irving and LeBron James are wearing black “I CAN’T BREATHE” t-shirts prior to tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets in support of Eric Garner. Garner died in a Staten Island neighborhood as the result of a chokehold from a New York policeman last summer. Protests have broken out across New York the last few days after a grand jury chose not to indict the officer on murder charges. Garner's final words, uttered over and over and caught on video, were "I can't breathe."
King indicated in June that he wanted to re-sign Pierce. "That was the plan of attack," King said Monday at an NBA Cares event on Staten Island. "And I think as we started negotiations, with the numbers that they asked for, I thought at one point he was definitely leaving. You start switching gears because you start hearing that he's going to end up in another place, so you have to start preparing."

A Staten Island teenager was arrested for allegedly threatening New York Knicks owner James Dolan. As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported Friday, 19-year-old John Giamella was arrested and hauled into court on a charge of aggravated harassment for allegedly making threats online against Dolan. He said of the Knicks owner in his email postings, “it’s officially time to die — I really hate James Dolan.”
As part of NBA All-Star 2015, the NBA and its partners will host a variety of community, grassroots and fan events throughout the city’s five boroughs (The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island). This will mark the fifth time that NBA All-Star will take place in New York, having been held previously at Madison Square Garden in 1954, 1955, 1968 and 1998. “New York offers an extraordinary opportunity to host NBA All-Star events at two world-class venues,” said Stern. “We look forward to celebrating our game with basketball fans across the entire city, in all five boroughs.”
Roland Lazenby: Phil Jackson could really really anger people he worked with. He would always do things to emphasize he was in control. As the Bulls went to Staten Island during the 94 playoffs, Phil stopped the bus+ordered the only female PR staff member to get off. The woman Phil ordered off the bus that day was the only female on the bus. She was humiliated+soon left the job. Phil can be a real dick.
He might even get an assist from his old college point guard, Bobby Hurley, who will also be in Houston this weekend after just finishing his first season as an assistant coach for his younger brother, Dan, at Wagner College on Staten Island, NY. One thing’s for sure: Laettner’s already dreaming big. “Well the ultimate goal is to get a big time head college coaching job,” Laettner said. “If nothing happens in the college ranks, I’ve got to go to the NBA pre-draft camp this year in Chicago and let the people in the NBA know that I’m ready to be an assistant coach.”
