Nikola Jokic: "Even then I had great veterans: Jameer Nelson, Mike Miller, Wilson Chandler, Darrell Arthur, who’s with us now. I know, I know ... Every day in the weight room. They were in the weight room every day.Every day they were in the gym. Jameer, he was dragging me around nonstop: a lunch, a dinner … I won’t name names now, but there were times in my organization where young players didn’t have the right role models and the right people to show them... to guide them. Mike Miller every time in a suit. It’s little things, but you see... that stuck with me: Mike Miller wore a suit every day.”
From there, it was years of learning from some of the best. There were so many players who were kind enough to pass along some of their expertise. Way too many to name. But I’ll always be grateful to Mike Miller for showing me how to put in work. How to hone your craft through consistent and focused training. Mike was a maniac with that stuff, and if you were around him enough you couldn’t help but to have it rub off. Patty Mills and Manu Ginobili were two other guys I absolutely loved. They’re both tireless competitors, and Patty is literally the most optimistic, positive person I’ve ever met. Darrell Arthur, too, another Memphis guy. Did all the little things, the dirty work. He had a huge impact on me. Then there’s Chris Paul, my friend and also one of the most competitive people I have ever met. I remember us not talking for years over a playoff series! And Kyle Lowry. Kyle is one of my best friends in the entire world, going all the way back to middle school. So, it was awesome to be able to suit up and play in NBA games with Kyle.
Chris Herrington: Mike Miller, Tayshaun Prince, Darrell Arthur joining Rudy Gay. Beno Udrih, Jon Leuer and Quincy Pondexter among the former Marc Gasol teammates in the house. Dave Joerger also here.
Murray has leaned on the advice of others around him that have sustained major knee injuries, including Nuggets staffer and former Murray teammate Darrell Arthur. “Even when I look good in practice, he just tells me to keep sticking with it,” Murray shared. “When I’m frustrated, and I’m sore and I’m still trying to get through it, ‘stick with it.’ He always tells me to look at how far I’ve come. If I can keep on that same path, keep looking back to two months ago, three months ago, you see the improvement that you keep striving for.”
Michael Singer: Have heard two names who could be joining Tim Connelly in Minnesota, per sources: Darrell Arthur and Dell Demps. Arthur recently started working for the #Nuggets, and Demps gave Connelly one of his first breaks in New Orleans. Both are very close with Connelly.

The Disabled Player Exception that Phoenix applied for with regards to Darrell Arthur is now voided with his waiver. The Suns will have a $7.4M cap hit on Arthur and $50K with Shaquille Harrison. Teams eligible to claim Harrison must have cap space or a trade exception to claim him based on the guard signed a three-year contract in March. The remaining $1.4M on the Harrison contract is non-guaranteed and he has a $1.6M team option in 2019-20. The Suns will need to waive or trade one player before Jamal Crawford is signed.

Don't be sure that the Suns will be granted this exception. Multiple team executives told ESPN.com they were dumbfounded about what exactly season-ending injury for Arthur could be. The veteran has not appeared on the injury report during preseason and the team has not announced that he was hurt. For Phoenix to be eligible for the DPE, Arthur's injury had to occur with the Suns and not before the mid-July trade to acquire him.

Bobby Marks: The value of the Darrell Arthur Disabled Player Exception is worth $3.73M (plus $100K) if granted. If the Suns are granted the DPE and Arthur is waived in the future, Phoenix would still have the exception available. Can only be used to sign/claim/trade a player with 1 year left.
Shams Charania: Sources on @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium: The Phoenix Suns have applied for a disabled player exception with the NBA for Darrell Arthur. Arthur was acquired in trade with Brooklyn.
Gerald Bourguet: Darrell Arthur won't be with the Suns for training camp. Medical situation he wouldn't comment on will hold him out. Heading up to training camp with 16 healthy bodies
