Ramona Shelburne: A few weeks ago James Harden was waxing poetic about his time in LA, telling ESPN how “blessed” he’d felt to play in his hometown. I believe he was genuine in those sentiments. But this is a business decision for all involved. Garland is 10 years younger and gives the Clippers more of a future. Harden gets a chance to play for a contender and a better chance to earn some long term security. Everyone involved knew this summer how tradable that partial guarantee on the second year of Harden’s contract made him. All in all, a very different kind of exit than his last few exits.

NBA Insider Jake Fischer said during a livestream Monday “the Lakers are ready to move on from LeBron James and I think LeBron James is ready to move on from the Lakers as well.” Fischer reported he believes the divorce will happen in June. “That’s kind of the foregone sentiment in Los Angeles right now about what’s to come this summer,” Fischer said.
Adam Schefter: Lions Amon-Ra St. Brown and Chargers Keenan Allen will play in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday, Feb. 13, which tips off All-Star Weekend in LA and airs on ESPN.

The NBA is leaning hard into nostalgia for NBA All-Star Weekend 2026, and Joey Fatone is right at the center of it. After celebrating his 49th birthday on Wednesday, the NSYNC member has been announced as one of the featured performers for the NBA’s Courtside Concert programming during NBA Crossover in Los Angeles. Fatone, performing under the banner Joey Fatone and Friends, will take the Hardwood Central stage between Feb. 12 and 15, adding a familiar ’90s pop sound to one of the league’s biggest fan events of the year.
Redick has harnessed those emotions into purpose, collaborating with other Los Angeles leaders to create his charity, LA Sports Strong, and partnering with the nonprofit Steadfast L.A. to help rebuild the Palisades Recreation Center. He has met with builders, funders and civic partners. They have reimagined the rec center, with plans for fire-resilient buildings and 50,000-square feet of rehabilitated green and community space, protected by fire-resistant landscaping. On Jan. 8, Redick joined a fundraiser for the rec center, hosted at a home in the Palisades.

"I think LeBron intended to stay in Cleveland and then the Kyrie Irving thing blew up," said Brian Windhorst on ESPN Radio Los Angeles. "And that was in 2017. LeBron decided before his last year that he was going to be done in Cleveland. "I think in 2017 he looked around and saw the Lakers and saw a great opportunity. And whether he decided he wanted to do that in August of 2017 or whenever. He made the decision on July 1st. His previous two times, he dragged his thing out until July 7th or 8th. He knew what he was doing. "And the Lakers made trades at the trade deadline to open up the cap space. The Lakers knew what he was doing.

Jaylen Brown: “For me, like I live in Boston — it’s a cold weather. It’s kinda cold here in LA too right now.” “But in Boston it’s really cold.” “So one of the things that I like to do to kinda warm up my space — put on some salsa music, dance. It kinda like helps with your mental health and things like that.” “If you in Boston, you should try it. Put on some salsa music, some Hector Lavoe, some uh—yeah, you know.”

As for his own time in Los Angeles, Harden seemed to dispel any notion that he'd want to leave his hometown amid the Clippers' early-season struggles. "It's hard to explain," Harden said. "Being at home, that's like the opportunity of a lifetime for me. Just be able to hoop in front of my family, friends, people I grew up with, people that raised me. It's a different feeling. So as much as people talk all the time. That's social media, that's what people's jobs are to talk. For me, it's just like I'm actually living in it so I can't get caught up in what people talk about, how people feel, whatever the case. "I'm from L.A. and I'm blessed to be here."

Ballmer's attorneys have asked the court to determine that the investors failed to allege facts sufficient enough to state a legal claim. Ballmer's lawyers also asked for the case to be dismissed. A hearing is scheduled for March 9, 2026, at Los Angeles County Superior Court in downtown Los Angeles.
