Just days after it was revealed that Kyrie Irving had given $22,000 to a Howard University student’s GoFundMe, permitting her to complete her studies at the HSCU school, a Montana newspaper reports that Irving gave $50,000 to another GoFundMe that will permit a childcare center to continue operating in the Treasure State.
Now, there’s a new example: Irving quietly donated $22,000 to a Howard University student who without the contribution wouldn’t have been able to continue her studies. A fellow alum of Howard (which is also the alma mater of Vice-President Kamala Harris) noticed the contribution on GoFundMe and tweeted about it Thursday morning...
In a statement, the magazine also noted Curry’s off-court work. “Curry extended his reach off the court this year as well: his Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation continues to fight food insecurity, promote early childhood literacy and create safe places for kids to play and be active throughout Oakland and the Bay Area,” the statement read. “Additionally, he worked to make golf more inclusive by supporting the Howard University golf team and launched the UNDERRATED Golf Tour for underrepresented junior players.”
