Jason Beede: The way the #Magic out-rebounded Minnesota 58-37 really stood out to me. Paolo Banchero led the team with 15 boards, but four others (WCJ, M. Wagner, TDS and Penda) had at least six rebounds. Overall, 10 players grabbed at least two for Orlando.

Demin’s opinion carries weight because he is an example of the loophole that players like Bailey and Bediako are saying is unfair to them. Current rules allow players such as Demin, who played professionally in Europe for Real Madrid, to come to the U.S. and play in college. Franz and Moritz Wagner both played for Alba Berlin before playing collegiately at Michigan. The same opportunity has not, traditionally, been afforded to American players who played in the NBA or G League. “I just feel like there’s a reason why they call you a pro,” said the Grizzlies’ Jaylen Wells, who played at both Sonoma State and Washington State. “And when you’re in college, you’re not a pro.”

Jason Beede: Update: The #Magic say Moe Wagner is OUT today vs. Memphis in London due to left knee injury management.

In fact, Berlin native Moe Wagner of the Magic told SBJ he would even be willing to play for NBA Europe once his NBA career concludes. “One-hundred percent,” Wagner said. “Obviously, I don’t know where my life goes -- I’m not the only one making decisions in my household either. But I’m not opposed, I’m very intrigued by it, obviously from a financial perspective, but I also think Europe has so many great cities. That’s one of the biggest strengths there. Milan looks totally different than Paris, and Paris looks different than Germany and in America everything looks the same almost. So there’s a huge potential for a league there to grow and I think even a lot of Americans would love it there.”

The Orlando Magic have upgraded Moritz Wagner (left knee injury recovery) to available for Sunday's game against New Orleans. Wendell Carter Jr (right hip strain) and Jonathan Isaac (illness) are now questionable.

Jason Beede: At the event, I asked #Magic guard Desmond Bane about the return of Moe Wagner, even though he hasn’t played with him before: “Everybody’s told me about the energy and the swag that he plays with and brings,” Bane said. “So, I can’t wait to share the court with him.”

Jason Beede: The #Magic officially list Moe Wagner as Probable for Sunday vs. New Orleans. The team said a few moments ago he’ll be AVAILABLE. Franz Wagner (left high ankle sprain) and Jalen Suggs (right knee MCL contusion) both remain OUT. Tristan da Silva (back spasms) is Questionable.

Jason Beede: “They’re doing well,” #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said pre-game when I asked how Franz and Moe Wagner are progressing in their respective rehabs. “There’s no timetable on it but they’re responding to the treatments pretty well as we go on.”

Jason Beede: I asked #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley where Moe Wagner is at in his rehab process, how long he has left and what's next: "Well, there's no real time frame on what we're doing," Mosley said. "He's just seeing how he keeps responding to treatment." Next stage is some 2-on-2, 3-on-3.

Josh Robbins: After today's game, Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said Moe Wagner will not play on the Magic’s upcoming trip to Denver, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Portland. Wagner tore his ACL nearly one year ago and has been working his way back.

Moritz Wagner: I'm very privileged, of course. Yes, well, we have a lot of money. We lack nothing. And when I preach this on this topic, I understand that 80% of the people listening probably think, "Well, it's easy for him to say that." That's what I would think if I were to listen to myself right now. That's why I always shy away from this topic a little . But here I am being completely honest, this falls under the category of how people fool themselves. The thing about money and this constant need for more and more, there are also huge cultural differences. Well, that's even more prevalent in America. I was in Brazil once and a friend of mine tried to work in Rio de Janeiro, and he told me back then that nobody in South America wants to work at all. For them, a successful day is when they do their push-ups on the beach and then afterwards, have a beer and a steak on the beach and sleep well at 4 a.m., and then the same routine starts again at 11 a.m. So, of course there's also a cultural difference, but this constant "more and more ," this money issue, I think what you shouldn't forget is that I want to live my life, no matter how much money I ever make, money is a means to an end for me.
