What was the first big moment when you realized, “Boy, finally, I’m in the NBA. This is actually happening. It’s real”? Derrick White: Yeah, I mean, the first time I actually had some real minutes. I check in against OKC, and I go to the free-throw line, and I got Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. And I’m from Colorado, and so Carmelo Anthony was basically my whole childhood. So I’m kind of like, “This is amazing that I’m here next to you. I can’t believe it.” So that was kind of my—my eyes are wide open the whole time. I probably turned it over the next play.

Austin Krell: Nick Nurse says that there is no ramp-up period expected for Paul George. Once he's cleared from his suspension, he'll be ready to go.

Omari Sankofa II: Ausar Thompson (right ankle sprain) will miss his fourth straight game tomorrow vs the Sixers. Caris LeVert (left wrist sprain) is doubtful. Chaz Lanier (G League Assignment) is questionable. Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and Kelly Oubre are all out for Philly.

Bobby Marks: For their game tonight at Cleveland, the 76ers have 81% of their current salaries on the sidelines: - Joel Embiid: $55.2M - Paul George: $51.7M - Tyrese Maxey: $38M - VJ Edgecombe: $11.1M

That does not mean George can't help inch the gap a bit narrower with his wisdom. "Trying to get some of his veteran leadership. Even though he's not getting on the court and doing stuff, he can still help these guys, which he's doing a decent job of. But just really want to keep him as sharp, pushing him pretty hard physically, to be as sharp as possible when he returns," Nick Nurse told reporters ahead of Tuesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs.

No one can blame Nurse if the days run together in his head. About a week ago, he thinks, there was a film session following a long discussion between Nurse and George. The focus was guarding the rim—some things they wanted to do better, and how that would look. "There were about three or four clips in a row that showed really bad, then really great, then really bad, then really great. After the film session, I said, 'PG, I want you to jump in there on those. In the film session, jump in there because you and I were just talking about this, like, two days ago. You have some insight there. I know you're not playing, but get involved and get out there," Nurse said.

On Saturday morning, as the Sixers clocked in for practice, George and Nurse had a meeting. It was a double-duty day for George, who was teaching youngsters and making life difficult for his teammates as a tough customer on the scout team. The message? Don't shy away. "'Listen, you got to continue to teach these guys, especially on the defensive end. Like, I know you're seeing things. I can see you seeing them. Continue to kind of coach now while you're out.' But he's been really solid," Nurse said.
Who has the best player podcast? Jeff Teague: 5 Jalen Brunson/Josh Hart: 1 Paul George: 1 Draymond Green: 1 Rudy Gay/Carmelo Anthony: 1 What’s the saying these days — everybody has a podcast? Certainly feels that way in the NBA. This question was meant to measure who, among their peers, the players think has the best pod. But the overwhelming answer was a former colleague.

Once the ruling was made on PG’s suspension, what have you done to try to mitigate that? Quentin Grimes: “I’m staying ready. That was uncertain and unexpected. But that’s why I put in the work all summer and throughout the season. That way I would stay ready for more opportunities and more shots. That’s a tough position for the team. But you have to be ready when your name is called and step up.”

What have you all been doing to try to absorb his absence as best as you can? Quentin Grimes: “It’s knowing that everybody can have more opportunity. It’s not just me. Whoever it may be, we try to come in with the right mindset and pick up a little bit more because he’s a great shooter and a great defender. So collectively as a team, we’re going to do little things for him while he’s out.”

Ivica Zubac: Free agency started. Right before free agency, I signed a four-year deal. It just wasn’t announced yet. About two days later, it comes out we signed Kawhi and traded for Paul George. It literally dropped at the same minute—signed him and made the trade. I’m at home panicking—am I in the deal? What’s happening? I had no clue. All that was out was: a trade happened. I didn’t know what was going on—nobody was calling me. They hadn’t announced the signing yet. So I call my agent: is the deal valid? Is everything good? He’s like, yeah, don’t worry. And then the trade details came out. Overnight we became—everyone’s saying we’re winning the title.”

Austin Krell: Joel Embiid is OUT for tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors on the second night of a back-to-back. Everyone else not named Paul George is available. GSW will be without Steph, Jimmy, and Kuminga.

Draymond Green: I know everyone is looking for a response to Dillon Brooks’ comments about podcast. He was speaking on me and Paul George doing podcasting. He said they're not good at basketball, so focus on hoops. I don't really feel the need to get in back and forth. If I was Dillon Brooks I wouldn't have too much love for this podcast either, being how he was annihilated on this podcast, possibly aided in him being traded away from the Memphis Grizzlies where he ultimately said he really enjoyed playing there. So I get it. I completely get it. And yeah he said we talk too much on our podcast, but he's been kind of going on other people's streams and just like talking too much, if you will. I found it funny. I thought it was cute like those guys talk too much on those podcast. There are some people that you can go talk to that about. You say they're not good at basketball. When I started this podcast, what made guys really comfortable with having these podcast was because I was an All-Star and an NBA champion in the same year. We heard that that noise before.
