How have you been preparing for the 2019 NBA draft? Marial Shayok: When the season ended, I started working out in Los Angeles with Chris Johnson. The workouts have been great. We start pretty early and do our strength and conditioning with Travelle Gaines. It’s been a good amount of guys in the gym. Andrew Nembhard, the point guard from Florida, was out there with us and Cameron Johnson and Charles Bassey before he decided to return to Western Kentucky. There have been some pros, too, like James Young and a few others as well. I’m taking it one day at a time. I’m trying to win each day, get the most of each day and it will result in landing on an NBA roster and being a key part to the team.

Several first round NBA prospects have been told that they cannot play for the G-League this season due to a rule that bars players who have been part of a college basketball program during the same academic year, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. That includes Mitchell Robinson, a potential lottery pick who recently dropped out of Western Kentucky to focus on the draft.
This was what he had to say on Wednesday, even adding that he's personally responsible for the population growth in Manhattan, Kan. He said via Mike Vorkunov: "Man, you guys are just catching on. And that's all I gotta say. "I went to a small school in Manhattan, Kansas that nobody heard of in 25 years. That the city of Manhattan has now multiplied five, six - should I be compensated? "My jerseys. They sell my jerseys. Not just me but what about Kentucky and Anthony Davis. USC and O.J. Mayo. Western Kentucky and Courtney Lee. We bring a lot to these schools and we can't even park in front of the arenas for games. They still make us, as freshmen, park two parking lots away from the dorm rooms in the freezing cold. So do I think that guys need to be compensated for their work? Yes. Because most of us don't make it to this level. A lot of us don't make it to the professional level, let alone the NBA. So I do think guys should be getting paid. The NCAA is making billions: not just off basketball but off football and soccer - by the way, golf players get paid. Tennis players get paid. There are athletes getting paid at the college level. We're just not one of them."
