Blake Murphy: UPDATE: Raptors 905 are acquiring Charlie Brown Jr, who is signing in to the G League and will join 905 for camp. 905 sending out a 2025 1st, 2025 2nd, 2026 2nd, and the rights to Marques Bolden (out with an Achilles injury)
Michael Scotto: The Charlotte Hornets will waive Charlie Brown Jr, league sources told @hoopshype. Brown has spent four seasons in the NBA and is owed $2.24 million for the 2024-25 season. As a Knicks two-way player, he averaged 16.6 points, 5.9 boards and 2.1 steals in the G League last season. pic.x.com/YpKMB1jTjc

Duane Washington Jr., a Klutch client, needed a buyout. He was included in the three-team swap with the T-Wolves and Hornets, among three players the Knicks signed-and-traded to make the salaries match and confirm the mathematical equation. For Washington Jr., the reward was a roughly $2.2 million guaranteed salary and an opportunity to revive his NBA dream with the Hornets. Since the Knicks were unable to aggregate players on minimum contracts, they found a loophole by signing Washington Jr. and the two other players — Charlie Brown Jr. and DaQuan Jeffries — to just $1 above the minimum, as first reported by The Athletic.
Bobby Marks: Here are the agreed trade details, per sources. The trade call has not taken place yet. New York receives: Karl-Anthony Towns (from MIN) and the draft rights of James Nnaji (from Charlotte) Minnesota receives: Julius Randle (from NYK), Donte DiVincenzo (from NYK), Keita Bates-Diop (from NYK) and 2025 top-13 protected Detroit first (via NYK) Note: The first from Detroit is top-11 protected in 2026, top-9 protected in 2027. It will turn into a 2027 second from Detroit if not conveyed in 2025, 2026 or 2027. Charlotte receives: 2025 second (least favorable of Denver or Philly via Minnesota), 2026 (Golden State via NYK), 2031 second (from NYK), DaQuan Jeffries (sign-and-trade from NYK), Charlie Brown Jr. (sign-and-trade from NYK), Darius Washington (sign-and-trade from NYK) and $7.2M cash
Fred Katz: The Hornets are receiving three second-round picks (two via Knicks, one via Minnesota), along with DaQuan Jeffries, Charlie Brown and Duane Washington Jr., to complete the Karl-Anthony Towns-Julius Randle-Donte DiVincenzo trade, sources tell me, @JonKrawczynski and @ShamsCharania
Westchester Knicks: The Westchester Knicks agree to trade the Returning Player Rights to Charlie Brown Jr. to the Osceola Magic in exchange for the Returning Player Rights to Brandon Williams and their 2025 NBA G League International Draft pick.
TNT’s view of the NBA negotiations basically comes down to it believes it was Charlie Brown and the NBA was Lucy, moving the football at the last moment whenever a deal was close. The NBA looks at it differently and was prepared to never give NBC the opportunity if the TNT numbers were right. A judge will have a say about how it all works or maybe the parties will settle for some sort of rights and/or financial package.

Fred Katz: Jacob Toppin’s and Charlie Brown Jr.’s two-way contracts are both one-year deals, a league source tells @TheAthletic
